DEVICE AND METHOD FOR MEASURING PLATE THICKNESS OF BOTTOM PLATE OF CYLINDRICAL TANK

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device for measuring the plate thickness of a bottom plate for a cylindrical tank, in which the thickness reducing state of a steel plate over the whole tank bottom plate can be grasped without removing the paint of the tank bottom plate. SOLUTION: This device comprises a measuring truck 11 traveling on the tank bottom plate; slave trucks 15 arranged in the lateral direction of the measuring truck 11 and attached to the measuring truck 11 through universal joint mechanisms 14; a reflection ultrasonic probe 16 attached to each slave truck 15 and measuring the thickness of the tank bottom plate; a paint film thickness meter 17 measuring the thickness of a paint film on the surface of the bottom plate; and a rotary encoder 18 mounted on the measuring truck 11 and measuring the traveling distance of the measuring truck 11.
