PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a highly reliable rotary compressor by using polyalkylene glycol or polyalphaolefin for the base oil of its lubricating oil of the compressor in which carbon dioxide, which is a natural refrigerant, is used as its refrigerant to prevent rollers and vanes from being abnormally worn. SOLUTION: This rotary compressor using carbon dioxide as its refrigerant and using, as the base oil of its lubricating oil, polyalkylene glycol (nominal name) or polyalphaolefine (nominal name) or a mineral oil uses vanes having a radius of curvature Rv (cm) at the slidable contact part of the vanes with the rollers expressed by the following expression 1.Expression 1: T < Rv < Rr, where T is the thickness (cm) of the vanes, and Rr is the outer peripheral radius (cm ) of curvature of the rollers in slidable contact with the vanes.
