PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide shoes, specifically shoes for wide use such as women's shoes or the like, which provide cool feeling and prevent stuffiness. SOLUTION: Woven fabric, knitted fabric, or net formed of 50 wt.% of thread containing 50 wt.% or greater of Japanese paper is used for at least a part of instep parts of the shoes. A cover factor of the woven fabric is 0.8-0.99, and a twisting factor of the thread is 0.2-1. The Japanese paper is formed of Japanese paper material and material containing 5-70 wt.% of fiber selected from the group consisting of cotton, rayon fiber, and synthetic fiber.
