PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lawn mower designed to reduce duct cloggings caused by cut lawn's being caught up on a level difference formed at the free edge of a changeover valve plate turned downward. SOLUTION: This lawn mower has such a construction that the changeover valve plate 53 with deflector function is mounted in a raisedly turnable manner on the rear portion of an exhaust duct 50 extending from a mower apparatus. In this lawn mower, the exhaust duct 50 comprises an upper duct body 51 whose cross section is of downward U-shape, a lower duct body 52 closing the front half portion of a downward opening 51a of the upper duct body 51 and the changeover valve plate 53 closing the rear half portion of the downward opening 51a. A narrow shaft-like rod 57 supporting from beneath the changeover valve plate 53 at a closed position is provided at a position below a point shifted toward the rear half portion of the downward opening 51a, wherein the attachment position for the rod 57 is set so that the surface of the changeover valve plate 53 is located on the extended plane of the inner surface of a bottom plate 52 at the lower duct body 52.
