The central portion of the handlebar tube passes through a bore (13,14) in a central housing (10) on top of a support column (30) sloping at a slight angle to the vertical. The clock and instrument assembly (40) for the physical training machine is mounted on top of the central housing. It has electric connecting wires (41) with terminal units connected to wires (24,33) passing through the column and emerging above the top surface (15) of the central housing.
