<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a data management device capable of setting a plurality of security modes to protect various data in an optimum method according to the state, a control method of computer and a program therefor. <P>SOLUTION: A storage part 14 comprises a mode content storage part storing, for each of the plurality of security modes to which data groups including one or more data are assigned, a protection flag that is data for whether each data group is an protection object or not.
