PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a resin composition suitable for optical forming of planar light exposure system and curable by short-time planar light exposure, and to provide a method for efficiently producing a three-dimensional form using the composition. SOLUTION: The active energy ray-curable resin composition comprises a radical-polymerizable organic compound and a radical polymerization initiator and has a critical curing energy(Ec value) of 10 mJ/cm<SP>2</SP>or less. Among others, the active energy ray-curable resin composition having an absorption of≥0.06 in terms ofεvalue at least in the wavelength band region of 375-410 nm is suitable for optical forming by planar light exposure system and can efficiently produce a three-dimensional form by transmitting a pattern-controlled photomask to the liquid layer surface of this resin composition to project a desired planar optical image on the resin liquid surface to cure the resin composition every one layer and by repeating this operation to successively laminating cured resin layers.
