PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress the leakage of a lubricant such as a grease to the outside of a sewing machine from occurring while keeping the lubrication of the constitution in the surface section of the sewing machine. SOLUTION: A lubricant holding member which holds the lubricant in a manner to come into contact with a part of the peripheral surface of a needle bar, to the needle bar which moves and advances/retracts in the axial direction in the lower surface section of a sewing machine frame is provided on the internal surface of the lower surface section of the sewing machine frame. Thus, the lubricant holding member is made to impart the lubricant to the needle bar from a section which comes into contact with the peripheral surface of the needle bar, and the movement of the needle bar is made to be smoothly performed. By the contact of the lubricant holding member into the section of the peripheral surface of the needle bar, the lubricant to be imparted to the needle bar is prevented from being fed more than required, and the excessive lubricant is prevented from leaking to the outside from a gap or the like between the needle bar and the sewing machine frame.
