PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide thick fineness acrylic fiber that can give pile fabrics that closely resembles natural furs and has excellent appearance and soft and slippery feeling and provide pile fabric that has the very close feeling to the natural fur quilted coat. SOLUTION: The fiber comprises an acrylonitrile polymer including more than 50 wt.% of acrylonitrile wherein the maximum width of the fiber side face is 100 to 220μm, the cross-sectional area of the fiber is 800 to 3,500μm<SP>2</SP>, the compression that is represented by the ratio of the minimum value A of the major axis to the maximum value B of the minor axis (A/B) is 6 to 20, and the content of the thick fineness acrylic fiber is 5 to 70 wt.% in the pile part on the basis of the total pile.
