A steam iron (1) comprises a sole plate (4) with steam outlet holes (6') and a wet steam spray nozzle (17) at the front connected to a steam source. The nozzle is constructed on the venturi principle having an air inlet opening (63). An independent claim is also included for a steam reducing/blocking device for the above.
