<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an anode material for a secondary battery with high capacity and a long life. <P>SOLUTION: The anode material for the secondary battery used for the anode storing and releasing lithium ion contains a material component 3a larger than a theoretical weight lithium storage volume of carbon, storing less lithium as it comes nearer a current collector 1a.
