<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an auxiliary bar which enables adjustments of the moving speed of the auxiliary bar in the middle of ascending and descending when a user ascends and descends stairs while holding the auxiliary bar and is safely halted in case of emergency. <P>SOLUTION: An auxiliary device is equipped with a guiding means 2 provided along an inclination of the stairs 1, the auxiliary bar 3 which is protruded in the width direction of the stairs 1 from the guiding means 2 and has the function of assisting in the ascending and descending walking of the stairs 1, an electric motor 4 for elevating and lowering the auxiliary bar 3 along the guiding means 2, an operational part 3a provided on the auxiliary bar 3, a speed adjustment means 6c which implements arithmetic processing of a rotational speed of the electric motor 4 depending on the operational state of the operational part 3a, and a control unit 6 with a driving means 6f for controlling the electric motor 4 depending on an output of the speed adjustment means 6c. A grip strength detecting means 7a for detecting grip strength is provided on the operational part 3a, and the rotational speed of the electric motor 4 is controlled by arithmetic processing of the speed adjustment means 6c from the output of the detecting means 7a. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
