PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a coaxial connector normally conducting connection of a signal line and connection of the signal line with ground even if a plug connector is fit to a receptacle connector in a prized state and stabilizing high frequency characteristics. SOLUTION: An external contact 4 of a plug connector 1 is formed in a frame shape having an almost rectangular cross section, and a spring contact part 4a is installed on facing both sides, an external contact 14 of the receptacle connector 11 is formed so as to have an almost U-shaped cross section, and a projecting part 14a is installed on facing both sides. A detecting contact 15 of the receptacle connector is installed in an opening part having an almost U-shaped cross section of the external contact 14. One side of the spring contact part is connected to the external contact 14 and the other side of the spring contact part is connected to the detecting contact, and both projecting parts are connected to the facing both sides respectively where the spring contact part of the external contact 4 is not installed.
