PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a recording control method for performing rerecording utilizing efficiently a free space with effective data not being recorded, and to provide a management method for using the free space efficiently. SOLUTION: Because data are additionally recorded on a given space block where the effective data are not recorded, the recording control method terminates recording in recording additionally when an allocated space block is filled up. In the other embodiment, the management method for the free space generates information for the free space, updates at every recording/deleting and stores the information to a disk according to a designated command.
