PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a production means for rapidly forming an extremely fine metal electrode of a long life time, at low cost on a glass substrate for a flat panel display. SOLUTION: An electrode pattern is drawn by irradiation with a laser on the glass substrate subjected to film formation with a paste composition, containing silver oxide powder and low melting point glass powder and the silver powder, is fired to the substrate. The coating film of the region unirradiated with the laser is oxidation decomposed by UV exposure and is then removed by cleaning. The resultant silver electrode of the fine wire is plated with gold, and can be used as an electrode for plasma discharge of a long life time as well. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
