PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mud treatment method for reforming mud discharged in a construction site, in the construction site to obtain improved soil. SOLUTION: The improved soil is obtained through a first treatment process for throwing the mud discharged in the construction site, into a first tank 10 for rough agitation and grinding, a second treatment process for throwing mud 91 obtained in the first treatment process, into a second tank 20 for grain size adjustment, and a third treatment process for throwing mud 93 obtained in the second treatment process, into a mud solidifying treatment device 30 for solidification. At this time, a tank having a grain size adjusting means for eliminating foreign matters of large grain diameters from the thrown-in mud to adjust the grain size of the mud, and comprising a tank part of box shape with an opening at the upper part, and a net-like cover part laid at the tank part to cover at least a part of the opening, is preferably used as the second tank 20.
