MULTIPLE-WAVELENGTH LIGHT SOURCE AND WAVELENGTH DIVISION MULTIPLEXING SYSTEM USING THE SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide multiple wavelength light source and a wavelength division multiplexing system which uses the same.

SOLUTION: The system has an amplification section 220 for generating light of broad waveband; and an optical fiber grating 210 that has a plurality of grating that are formed in a line on the optical fiber, divides the light made incident from the amplification section 220 into a plurality of channels having different wavelengths, and is reflected on the amplification section 220. The amplification section 220 amplifies each channel that is reflected from the gratings, thereby enabling construction of a communications system of wavelength division multiplexing for less expensive short-range communication.
