PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a steering device for a vehicle capable of absorbing impact of an occupant by automatically moving a steering from a first position to a second position approaching to the occupant by predicting collision of the vehicle and receiving the occupant by the movement member at collision of the vehicle. SOLUTION: A movement mechanism 21 for moving the steering wheel 2 from the predetermined first position to the second position approaching to the occupant than the first position is provided. When the collision of the vehicle is predicted, the steering wheel 2 is automatically moved from the first position to the second position and an air bag 34 is rearwardly deployed from the steering wheel 2 at the collision of the vehicle.
