A seed sowing machine comprising a pocketed seed wheel a which passes through a feed chamber c is provided with a deflector f for surplus seeds having one or more deflecting edges f4 which sweep upwards out of the tangential plane of the seed wheel and then curl over backwards beyond the radial direction of the seed wheel in such a manner as to induce a circulating motion of the seed inside the seed chamber. One or more discs g having roughened surfaces are provided and the deflector is arranged to direct seed on to the disc or discs to assist in the circulating motion. A shield h is associated with each disc to cover part of the face of the disc.</p> |
