PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To increase ionization efficiency of droplets formed by spraying a liquid sample in an ionization chamber and to finely atomize the droplets in order to improve detection sensitivity of the system. SOLUTION: The mass spectroscopy system has an electro-spray which ionizes components of the liquid sample by spraying the sample at approximately atmospheric pressure with giving charge to the sample which have reached to the end of a nozzle, and is equipped with a device for leading the liquid sample into the nozzle and a device for sending spray gas into the nozzle. This makes contact area per unit volume of the liquid sample with inner walls of electrodes prepared at the end of the nozzle large, improves charging efficiency of the droplets and results in mass spectroscopy of high sensitivity.
