PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To develop a treatment method and a solidification device for radioactive waste to obtain a solidified body excellent in stability by solidifying radioactive waste. SOLUTION: Radioactive waste containing amphoteric metal is mixed with water to obtain a turbid liquid. Ozone is injected into the turbid liquid to chemically change the amphoteric metal into a stable form, the amphoteric metal being contained in the radioactive waste in the turbid liquid. This ozone-treated turbid liquid is kneaded with cement to obtain a kneaded material. This kneaded material is shaped and solidified to obtain a solidified material. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
