PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pressure switch and a pressure monitoring system capable of detecting the pressure state, while securing sufficiently internal airtightness, though having a simple structure. SOLUTION: This pressure switch is equipped with a vessel-shaped casing 10 having a main opening part 10h, a diaphragm 11 installed so as to form a reference pressure chamber 14 sealed inside the casing 10 by closing the main opening part 10h, and having a conductive part facing to the inside of the reference pressure chamber 14, and a detection terminal 12 facing to the conductive part in the reference pressure chamber 14. The casing 10 is insulated to either of the conductive part and the detection terminal 12 through an intervening glass part 13. The diaphragm 11 can take at least two kinds of states, namely, the state where the conductive part abuts on the detection terminal 12 and the non-abutting state, in dependence on the magnitude of a pressure outside the reference pressure chamber 14.
