PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for sticking a coating film protecting sheet for an outer surface of an automobile by which the coating film protecting sheet can be stuck to the coated surface of a work having a recessed part without increasing working man-hours, without depending on personal skill of a worker and without causing "lifting" on the coated surface of the work, and to provide a tool used therefor. SOLUTION: The whole coated surface S is covered with the coating film protecting sheet P in such a state that the jig 1 for supporting the flotation of the sheet is arranged in the concave portion (a) of the coated surface. After the jig 1 is withdrawn from the space between the coated surface S and the coating film protecting sheet P, the coating film protecting sheet P is press-fixed/stuck to the whole coated surface S.
