PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a functional grip handle of a folding umbrella that well fits the hand and is easy to hold, helps a user easily hold an umbrella body, can be surely latched to store in a storage bag when it is not used. SOLUTION: Claw members 21a arranged at folding tips 21 of ribs 2 are bundled and latched in a hooking groove 31a formed at the base end 31 of the grip handle 3. The grip handle is formed into a tapered flange, the diameter of which is gradually increased from the tip 32 to the base end 31, and can widely and uniformly receive a load vertically acting thereon from the center of gravity by the curved contact surface of the tapered flange portion, when nearly vertically erected and grasped. When the umbrella is folded, the constricted portion of the tapered flange portion of the base end 31 is latched by a latch 41 arranged in the mouth portion of a storage bag 4 and is wound therearound, allowing the umbrella body to be surely stored in the storage bag 4.
