PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the noise of an operation, by allowing a user to customize the control of the number of the rotations of a cooling fan, according to the purpose of use within the range, to the extent that will not cause an image display projector to malfunction. SOLUTION: Upper limit temperature T1 to T5 of a lamp unit set for each stage of the number of the rotations of the fan is allowed to be altered, by a user according to the purpose of use within a range that will not cause the device to malfunction. Thus, the upper limit temperature is set high by the user, the number of rotations of the fan is thereby decreased within the predetermined temperature range, and the noise of the operation can be reduced.
