PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an impingement baffle for a turbine in a gas turbine engine. SOLUTION: This impingement baffle 62 includes a perforate plate 64 having a pattern of impingement holes 66. An imperforate deflector 68, which is disposed spaced from the plate 64 and is smaller than the plate, deflects inlet air around the deflector to the holes 66. The baffle 62 is disposed between a turbine shroud 28 and a supporting hanger 36, and the deflector 68 is disposed between the hanger 36 and the baffle 62. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
