PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a bearing structure which maintains small sliding resistance of a bearing member against a carriage guide shaft while preventing a backlash, and a bearing structure which does not generate a collision noise in consideration of resistance to wear between the bearing member and the carriage guide shaft. SOLUTION: This carriage bearing device is equipped with the carriage guide shaft 41 which guides a carriage 37 so that the carriage 37 can move in a main scanning direction, and the bearing member 77 which is provided in the carriage so as to support the carriage on the carriage guide shaft so that the carriage can be guided; an impact absorbing member 81 is provided near the bearing member; and an impact absorbing action part 91 for preventing the backlash caused by the presence of a clearance is formed in the impact absorbing member in such a shape as to protrude inward with respect to an inner surface of the bearing member which is positioned near a virtual horizontal line passing through the center of the carriage guide shaft or on the downside of the virtual horizontal line.
