931,322. Inverting. LICENTIA PATENTVERWALTUNGS-G.m.b.H. June 17, 1960 [June 23, 1959], No. 21366/60. Class 38 (2). [Also in Group XL (c)] A separately controlled inverter 1, e.g. a transistor inverter, feeding terminals B, C through a transformer 2 is controlled by a selfoscillating transistor inverter 3 and its elements are protected against short-circuit damage by a transistor 7 in the battery branch of the inverter 3. The inverter 3 comprising transistors 5, 6, controls the inverter 1 through a transformer 4 which also provides feedback windings 44, 45. The battery branch comprises a switch 8 and the emitter-collector circuit of the transistor 7 in series with a battery 9. A signal indicative of the output voltage is fed back from a potential divider 12, 13 through a rectifier 14 to the base-emitter circuit of transistor 7 so as to render this conductive. In the event of a short circuit across B, C the signal voltage falls thereby opening the transistor and stopping oscillations. For starting, a switch 10 and resistor 11 are provided to complete an emitter-base circuit through the battery 9. |
