The invention relates to a nuclear fuel assembly (1), comprising a group of nuclear fuel rods (3), arranged in an essentially regular network and a support skeleton (5), with two end plates (7, 9), guide tubes (11), connecting the end plates, and rod support grids (13), fixed to the guide tubes. The assembly further comprises a reinforcement device (21), for the support skeleton (5), arranged between two successive support grids (13) and fixed to guide tubes (11). The reinforcement device (21) is arranged within a group of rods (3) with a transversal extent less than that of the network of nuclear fuel rods (3). The above is of application in pressurised water reactor assemblies.
