The compound body produced by laminated object manufacture (LOM) techniques comprises layers of thermoplastic polymer foam and includes layer(s) obtained from a block of particle foam. The layer surfaces are joined to one another by application of heat. An Independent claim is included for a method for producing such a compound body. It involves inclusion of particle foam layers in the interior of the body.
