A method for coating powder particles comprises a step wherein a metal oxide thin film forming material is formed by mixing an organic metal compound, purified water and an organic solvent, a step wherein the metal oxide thin film forming material and a raw material powder are mixed, and a step wherein the materials after being mixed are left at rest for a certain time at a certain temperature. With this method, a uniform oxide thin film layer is formed over the surface of the raw material powder particle.
