<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printing device highly safe against an attack via a network, in which a burden on a manager is reduced. <P>SOLUTION: The printing device permits/inhibits communication with a device having a specific IP address by referring to an address book composed of IP addresses, and comprises a means for detecting an attack via the network on the printing device itself, a means for cutting off communication from an IP address of the attacker when an attack on the printing device is detected, a means for adding the IP address of the attacker to the address book, a means for reporting the IP address of the attacker to other devices, a means for cutting off communication with IP addresses included in data received when the report is received. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
