摘要 <p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a portable apparatus which can be operated terahertz probe brought close to a specimen in a terahertz electromagnetic wave generating and irradiating method for directly irradiating terahertz waves to foods, chemicals, human skin, etc. and detecting reflected waves. <P>SOLUTION: In the terahertz probe, a lens to be arranged in the terahertz probe for coupling the outputs of a pump laser beam and a signal laser beam into one fiber and introducing them to the terahertz probe; a crystal for terahertz generation; a terahertz waveguide; and a compact room temperature detector for detecting reflected waves from the specimen are firmly, longitudinally arranged in one compact case to acquire reflection output. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI</p>
