PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cell search method of an orthogonal frequency division multiplexing cellular communication system. SOLUTION: A desired cell is detected through a corresponding cell search process, using a frame structure of an OFDM symbol. The frame structure has a cyclic signal format and information on a desired cell code in a common pilot channel (CPICH) signal. The cell search method detects signal timing, using the cyclic properties of the frame structure and identifies the cell code, based on the correlation of the CPICH signal.
