PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mechanism for hermetically sealing an ink storage vessel of an inkjet cartridge with a cover. SOLUTION: The vessel for housing ink comprises an inner surface, an outer surface, and a peripheral end of an outer surface adjacent to an opening of the vessel. The cover with an inner surface, an outer surface and an internal edge on the inner surface is constituted so that the peripheral end of the outer surface of the vessel can adjoin the internal edge on the inner surface of the cover and can be brought into close contact with the vessel, when the vessel is closed. A gasket is positioned at the peripheral end of the outer surface of the vessel so as to be arranged in a contact state between the peripheral end of the outer surface of the vessel and the internal edge of the inner surface of the cover, when the vessel is closed.
