PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image scanner which is superior in color reproducibility. SOLUTION: The image scanner with an infrared light cut-off filter 108 in an optical path of an optical system for reading an image, including an light source 107, an imaging lens 105 and a line sensor 106 is further provided with a spectral transmittance correction processing means 1107 for recognizing and correcting a spectral characteristic, determined by a main scanning position of an infrared light cut-off material by performing a reading operation of a predetermined original.
