PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a plated component, which is simple, saves troubles and electroless-plates a specified surface to be plated. SOLUTION: The method for manufacturing the plated component comprises: covering the inner surface 3 of a cast cylinder block 10, the inner surface 5 of a plug mounting hole 4, the outer surface of an air-cooled fin 6, the outer surface of a flange 7, a flange face 8, the inner face of an exhaust port 10, the inner surface of an inlet port and the inner surface of a scavenging port with electrically insulative coating films 3A, 5A, 6A, 7A, 8A and others respectively; cutting the coating films 3A, 5A and 8A, and each base material of the inner surface 3 of the cylinder, the inner surface 5 and the flange face 8 to expose the inner surface 3 of the cylinder, the inner surface 5 and the flange face 8; and electroless-plating a cast cylinder block 1a having the exposed parts.
