PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce road noises without deteriorating steering stability of a pneumatic tire. SOLUTION: The rubber composition for tires comprises a block copolymer (A) comprised of a polyisoprene block containing a vinyl (1,2- or 3,4-bond) isoprene unit and a polystyrene block and a diene rubber (B) in a weight ratio of A:B of 20:80 to 50:50, and gives a vulcanized product having a hardness of 40-60 at 23°C (JIS K 6253 spring type hardness test type D). Preferably, the block copolymer (A) has a vinyl isoprene unit content of at least 40 wt% and a glass transition temperature of -10°C or above. The pneumatic tire comprises a rubber layer 30 composed of the rubber composition formed outside of a bead filler 20 in the direction of the tire axis in a bead part 12 of the tire.
