PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printer which reduces noises due to vibration of a driving motor and also stabilizes the printing position precision. SOLUTION: The printer 35 is equipped with a pulse motor 19 fixed via a vibration preventing member to a frame 20, a timing belt 28 stretched around a platen roller pulley 26 from a driving gear 24 set at a motor shaft 19a, and an exciting means 30 for exciting a tensile force to the motor shaft 19a in a nearly opposite direction to a tension direction of the stretched timing belt 28.
