METHOD AND DEVICE FOR MONITORING THE EXCHANGE OF DATA BETWEEN APPLICATION SYSTEMS

The aim of the invention is to provide an opportunity to monitor if the transaction of a data packet from a first application system to a second application system has been carried out successfully within a given time period, even if a series of other application systems are arranged between t he two application systems, the application systems involved are different from each other and are associated with different companies. The inventive method comprises the following steps: transmission of a dispatch control message fr om a first application system to a separate monitoring unit after a data packet has been sent from the first application to a second application system; creation of a reception-control message from the second application system once the data has been successfully received by the second application syste m; and output of a monitoring message from the monitoring unit containing information as to whether the data packet has been successfully received by the second application system within a given transaction time period.
