<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a backlight module supporting structure that simultaneously achieves the prevention of sagging or distortion in a fluorescent lamp and diffuser plate, and the prevention of explosion in the fluorescent lamp, in s backlight module of a liquid crystal display. <P>SOLUTION: The backlight module supporting structure 50 supports a fluorescent lamp housing 20 of the liquid crystal display and the backlight module including the fluorescent lamp and diffuser plate. The structure 50 has a substrate where grooves for supporting the fluorescent lamp 40 are formed, a first member 100 for fixing the fluorescent lamp and its housing, and an elongated body for supporting the diffuser plate.
