PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a selection method, a selection apparatus, and a selection program of an area size for selecting the size of an area wherein services are provided so that a user can utilize distributed contents.

SOLUTION: The area size selection apparatus 1 comprises: a terminal information reception section 10; a constraint time calculation section 11; an area size setting section 12; a number of contents determining section 13; a data quantity calculation section 14; a reproduction time calculation section 15; a communication quality measurement section 16; a transfer delay time calculation section 17; a spare time calculation section 18; a spare time discrimination section 19; a storage section 20; a selection section 21; and a transmission section 22.
