PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an opening/closing range guard safely usable without heating guard plates even when using a large pan and applicable to various ranges different in size. SOLUTION: The range guard 1 comprises a plurality of guard plates including a wide and large guard plate 3 and a narrow and small guard plate 5. The small guard plate 5 has a locking member 17 to which two guard plates 3, 5 are connected to be turned at the same time while involving the large guard plate 3 when the small guard plate 5 is open. Furthermore, the width of the small guard plate 5 is set enough to form a gap S of 20 mm or more between the pan A and the small guard plate 5 when the pan A having a diameter of 30 cm is put on a stove C on the side of the large guard plate 3.
