摘要 <p>A steering device for a vehicle using a steer-by-wire system, in which the front wheels are controlled and steered by computer program processing. A displacement-torque converting section (51) converts a steering angle theta into a steering torque Td in an exponential relation. A torque-lateral acceleration (52) converting section converts steering torque Td into an expected lateral acceleration Gd (or expected yaw rate gammad, expected turning curvature rhod) as the quantity of state of motion of the vehicle, the lateral acceleration Gd being in a power law relation and being capable of being sensed by the human. A steering angle converting section (53) calculates a target steering angle deltad required for the vehicle to move at the expected lateral acceleration Gd (or expected yaw rate gammad, expected turning curvature rhod). A steering control section (60) controls the steering wheel to the target steering angle deltad. Since a driver performs steering operation while feeling lateral acceleration, operation of a vehicle is facilitated.</p>
