<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a binder for heat-sensitive paper, which necessitates no additive such as an antifoaming agent due to little foaming at dissolution in water and, at the same time, which can suppress the ground color developing in the heat-sensitive paper. <P>SOLUTION: This binder for the heat-sensitive paper includes a polyalkylene polyol derivative having a repeating unit U-1 represented by formula (1) and a repeating unit U-2 represented by formula (2) under the condition that U-1/U-2=0.5/0.5-0.99/0.01 (by molar ratio) and, when necessary, a water-soluble cellulose ether, wherein A represents a bivalent polyoxyalkylene residue, which at least has hydroxyl groups at both its terminals and is derived from a water-soluble polyalkylene polyol having a number average molecular weight of 400-100,000 and an arrangement represented by HO-A-OH, B represents a bivalent organic residue, which has an arrangement represented by OCN-B-NCO and is derived from a polyisocyanate having a total carbon number of 3-18, and D represents a bivalent organic group derived from a dihydroxy compound selected from the group consisting of formulas (3)-(5). <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
