<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a multistage oil seal of a motor for a machine tool capable of securing a sealing function in relation to various kinds of cutting fluid. <P>SOLUTION: This multistage oil seal 4 is provided around a motor shaft 1 of the machine tool. The seal 4 is provided with a plurality of stages of lips 7a, 7b and 7c in the axial direction to protect internal members from the cutting fluid.
