<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an improved system and method for navigating media through a user interface provided on a hand-held or portable computing device. <P>SOLUTION: This medial navigation method is configured to improve the operability of a navigation operation according to bi-axial context switching related with a substantially orthogonal direction. That is, it is possible for a user to conceptually hold contexts/consequences related with the navigation operation which is losing in one-dimensional hierarchical navigation operation. This bi-axial navigation mechanism includes drill down twist, that is, conversion to convert the master list of a master screen from a vertical list to a horizontal band when the master screen is shifted to a slave screen and a horizontal browsing mechanism using a band constituted of a series of headers to enable a user to browse a plurality of lists. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
