<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a laser beam machining method and a laser beam machine capable of improving machining quality. <P>SOLUTION: Prior to machining, the lower limit value of the intensity in a laser pulse is set by a setting apparatus 12, and the upper limit value of the intensity in the laser pulse is set by a setting apparatus 22. Per period for which a laser shot command (a) is output, the voltage signal c as the intensity of a laser beam, and the lower limit value and upper limit value are compared by comparators 11 and 21.
