摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a titanium oxide-based inorganic complex consisting of a special structure with high activity and durability, and which is suitable for application in various areas, and a method for producing propylene oxide by using the complex as a catalyst. <P>SOLUTION: The inorganic complex is composed of titanium oxide having a cyclic structure in which two or more titanium atoms are alternately bonded with oxygen atoms, and an inorganic compound. The cyclic structure is preferably a four-member cyclic structure in which two titanium atoms are bonded by the intermediary of oxygen atoms. The inorganic complex is produced by bonding the titanium compound having the cyclic structure in which two or more titanium atoms are alternately bonded with oxygen atoms with the inorganic compound and, thereafter, by decomposing the titanium compound by applying external energy or adding a reaction agent. Also, by using the inorganic complex as a reaction catalyst for producing the propylene oxide by direct epoxidation of propylene with a gaseous phase oxidation reaction, the catalyst activity is maintained for a long period of time, and the propylene oxide can be produced with relatively high selectivity and yield. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
