PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To divide an image into a plurality of areas to achieve desired values both in statistical reliability of texture feature values and resolving power at a boundary position of areas obtained by dividing the image. SOLUTION: A texture feature value detecting part 200 detects a statistical texture feature value of specific kind relating to an image of a feature extracting area larger than a block and including the block near its center, corresponding to each of the plurality of blocks composing the analyzed image, and applies it as the texture feature value of the block. A texture classifying part 300 classifies the plurality of detected texture feature values into a plurality of clusters. An area division part 400 divides the analyzed image into the plurality of areas by forming one area by connecting the plurality of blocks adjacent to each other, and having the corresponding texture feature values belonging to the same cluster.
